Arts Harbor
Arts Harbor’s mission is to provide arts programs for adults with disabilities. We are currently in the seed funding phase for the location and direct support professionals.
Programming will happen at the new Julian + Brent Arts Center. The programs will engage the participants in meaningful minute to minute activities that excite their imagination, creativity and interest.
As the founder of Arts for All, Marcia Berger knows that bringing active participation in the arts allows individuals to feel better about themselves and makes each day a meaningful experience. This center will allow families, who have a member with a disability, to have comfort knowingthat their loved one is cared for and enjoying their time during their day.
The atmosphere of the Arts Center will be interesting and engaging so that the participants experience a meaningful time and leave feeling positive and good about themselves. This Arts Center will be a community of teaching artists who enrich lives through the arts – visual arts, ceramics, film, lectures, dance, drama, music, singing, storytelling, etc. – all dedicated to the pursuit of enrichment focusing on stimulating the brain through the arts. Direct support professionals (caregivers) will meet the specific personal needs of the participants while assisting the teaching artists to make the arts accessible. The Arts Center will be open Mondays – Fridays from 9am – 5pm.
